Setting Up Permalinks

Estimated reading: 1 minute 80 views

Permalinks are URLs that point to specific content on a webpage, such as a blog post, a product page, or a specific section within an article. They are designed to be permanent and unchanging, allowing users to bookmark or share them easily.

  • As a blogger, you must decide on a URL structure that is easy to read and includes keywords relevant to the content. We recommend that you set up your permalinks according to your preferences. To make adjustments, go to Settings > Permalinks.
  • The go-to is usually the Post Name permalink structure; we also recommend it. This structure will enable Page Titles or Blog Post titles at the end of the URL.
  •  Example: https://website.com/sample-post/
  • Once set, click Save Changes.
  • After changing your permalinks, ensure you cache your website; this enforces the permalinks to set. We recommend FlyingPress or Litespeed for caching.

SEO Permalink Considerations

  • Use keywords in permalinks for better search engine optimization.
  • Avoid changing permalinks frequently, as it can affect search engine rankings.
  • Use hyphens (-) to separate words instead of underscores (_).
